"American Lady" Butterflies

We have a bush outside in our front yard that is starting to bloom for spring. The other day I noticed there were lots of oranger butterflies fluttering around and made a mental note to take my camera out and take some pictures. Well, I finally got around to doing just that. I thought these might be Monarch butterflies because they are orange. Little did I know how many different species of orange butterflies there are. The three types in the pictures are the Red Admiral (First Picture), Common Buckeye (Last picture), and American Lady (the rest ha). Each one is a special work of art! Enjoy!

Mom's Birthday/Texas Tornado

Well the 3rd was my mom birthday. So we had a great idea... Take our dogs out to the bluebonnet field and take some pictures. The dogs loved it, the weather was great, and there was no one else there. Little did we know there was a huge tornado coming our way! A good samaritan  pulled over to tell us a tornado was coming... Well we decided to leave that field and go home, but there was another huge bluebonnet field and we just couldn't resist! We did that for another 30 minutes then when we got in the car all the radio stations were telling us to pull over and get in a ditch for saftey. Of course we were not about to get in a ditch. So we stopped at the nearest church and went in for shelter. So now its us, our two dogs, and the paster sitting in the basement of the church listening to the radio and the wind blow like crazy. Meanwhile our other two dogs are at home in their cages. To make a long story short, the storm blew over Irving, but hit a lot of our neighbor cities pretty bad. Our hearts break when we watch the news and we are going to get involved in the relief! Help your neighbors!

Anyway, here are the pictures we risked our lives to take...

... and happy birthday Mom!

Be blessed & pray for those affected by the tornado!
